BLU + HAZL
BLU + HAZL
A T L A N T A
I have a confession. I LOVE street-style and style-blogs. Love isn't really the word. I'm literally obsessed. Traditional fashion photography and editorials are my jam too, but there's really something epic in seeing the realness and rawness of one's personal style. I'll be honest here, I completely lack personal style. Put me in a store, and I mentally clock out. I have a love-hate relationship with shopping, but what I lack in personal styleability (I totally just made this word up), I make up in extreme adoration for those that can!
BLUHAZL, separately known as Laticia (BLU, because of her ice-blue eyes) and D'Ana (HAZL ––well you get the point, right?) are a new stylish-sister duo here in Atlanta. I love their fun, yet simple approach to style and how they compliment each other in each shoot, without over-doing it. SEE: Using similar tones, prints, textures or silhouettes, which brings cohesion when shooting more than one person. I'm no stylist, but it's all about a subtle balance.
I started following Laticia (BLU) at the beginning of the year hoping to tap her for some editorial shoots I was planning. A late-night binge of double-tapping on instagram may have been the cause for her unexpected follow-back. Before I even had the chance to reach out to her, she DM'd me about shooting with her and her sister, for their newly launched blog. I was amped! Upon meeting them, I literally thanked Sweet Baby Jesus, as they really have a strong hold on what works for them, and what doesn't. They're also incredibly infectious and kind. Seriously the definition of #GOALS.
THEY'RE JUST THAT EFFING COOL.
They also possess the magic sauce that ALWAYS compliments a great outfit: CONFIDENCE. No matter the location, or the time, or the 85-degree Atlanta heat (that sometimes feels like 107), they turn the confidence on full-blast -- you know, kind of like how you crank the AC up to level 5, after you've been sweltering in the heat for a few hours. If their Steve Madden's are pressing insanely hard against their toes, you won't hear a word from them. They're still there. Slaying through the pain.
They recently relaunched their site, so be sure to head over to see more this session and more, here.
